Bryncoed Weekends |

|
Walking, Cycling, Card Breaks, Pet Lovers,
Old Radio Fans, Friendship Weekends
or Reunions, Music or Slimming -
whatever you may be considering,
we look forward to discussing your
requirements with you.
Walking:
Rhayader is situated on the edge
of the Cambrian Mountains which
offer endless possibilities for
walkers who wish to explore the
rugged Welsh scenery.
For those with perhaps less energy
for exploring the wilderness, there
are numerous shorter riverside walks
throughout the town.
|
Cycling and Mountain Biking:
Mid Wales is a cyclist's
paradise, with mile
upon mile of quiet country
roads and lanes to explore.
Rhayader is on one of
the most the scenic
sections of the Welsh
National Cycle Route
8 (Lôn Las Cymru). This
section has many miles
of safe off road cycleways
for the whole family
to enjoy. The National
Cycle route runs the
entire length of Wales,
from Chepstow in the
south to Holyhead on
the isle of Anglesey
in the north. Cycles
can be hired locally.
For mountain bikers, the countless bridlepaths
in the area offer endless
possibilities for off-road
riding.
As part of the recent
Millennium celebrations,
a purpose-made cycle
path was constructed
which leads from Rhayader
to the very top of the
Elan Valley.

Bird Watching:
With so many
birds in their natural
habitat, Mid Wales is
a bird-watchers' dream
come true. You can visit
the wetlands and see
more than 80 different
species or explore the
hills and mountains
to see the birds of
prey in all their majestic
glory.
The
highlight of your tour
must surely be to view
the Red Kites soaring
effortlessly in the
skies above - you can
even see the Kites being
fed at the local Gigrin
Farm where purpose-built
hides have been constructed
from which to view these
truly beautiful creatures
at close quarters.
|
| Fishing:
With a wealth of rivers,
streams and lakes in the
area, fishermen are able
to pursue their sport
in and around the wonderful
surroundings of Rhayader.
In fact, the famous River
Wye, well known amongst
angling folk, flows directly
through the centre of
the town.
